I know it's been a really long time, but I was so excited about the photos I took of my sister this weekend that I wanted a place to share them.</div>

If you are in New Braunfels and are looking for a great location to take photos, be sure to visit the Mill Street Bridge. Amazing architecture and we also found a super cute house nearby that had rustic fences and a vintage airstream for our backdrop.<br />

Hello there blog world! Long time, no see! Today is my first full time day back at Cooper Jane since the holidays and I feel kind of all over the place. Hoping to focus my energies today to come up with some solid goals for 2014 and really explode this year.<br />
<br />
As I reflect back on 2013, my first year as a business owner, I have nothing but pride for all that I've accomplished. Don't get me wrong, there were countless struggles and lots of self-doubt along the way, sometimes even making me consider closing up shop, but there were also wonderful highs and successes that completely outweigh the rest. My husband is a saint for agreeing to this stress in his life and not putting any kind of pressure on me at all to make money. He trusted my vision completely and for that I will forever be grateful.<br />
<br />
One of the things I love about running a business is that it is all mine. The mistakes, the successes, the pitfalls and the glory. Figuring out the million things that don't work, though frustrating, is just as exciting to me as finding the one thing that does. I know that I have limitations in this field, but I have come to embrace that and enjoy using the resources I do have to create something beautiful. So incredibly grateful for everything this year has brought and can't wait to grow even more in 2014. Will be back in the coming weeks with some Lazy Girl DIYs, Thrift Store Before / Afters, and Ideas for Weddings on the Cheap!Cooper Jane Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00472543470552531420noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374181281114922785.post-29382572840754473642013-12-17T06:34:00.000-08:002013-12-17T06:34:38.957-08:00Old School Hand Stamped Gifts<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I know as a paper goods entrepreneur I can go overboard with custom creations for Christmas, Birthdays, etc... but this year I thought i'd keep it mostly simple with some old school hand stamped gift tags. The great thing about these is they are sooo easy to make. No illustrator/ photoshop/ printer needed!<br />
<br />
I just took a set of letters I got from hobby lobby a few years ago and stamped them onto heavy cardstock. For some of the gifts, I actually stamped right onto the package. So charming right? I'm a sucker for easy peasy DIYs and will be rolling out more of these in the new year. You can look forward to a series of Lazy Girl DIYs and also Thrift Store Before / Afters in 2014. Excited to share my simple and inexpensive transformations!<br />

A few photos from this weekend's chi-town fun. Stephen and I decided to take a quick trip to the windy city because we had some extra airline miles and I had always wanted to visit. The trip almost didn't happen though because of course ice-magedon hit DFW right before it was time for us to fly out. Texans don't do well with ice and this Texan's drive to the airport was seriously terrifying buut we made it and surprisingly our flights were not cancelled! On Friday night we took a cab from the airport to our hotel and just relaxed with a drink at the bar downstairs.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
On Saturday, Stephen and I woke up early to start our sightseeing. First, we walked from our hotel down to Michigan Avenue where all of the action is (shops, restaurants, the bean, etc...). We wandered around, snapped some photos and found a great spot for brunch called "<a href="http://www.wildberrycafe.com/">Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe</a>". The food here was delicious and not too expensive at all. If you take a trip here, I would highly recommend getting their signature Berry Bliss pancakes. Oh man, so good. </div>

The bean. Pretty crazy thing to see in the middle of downtown! Definitely brought out the little kid excitement in me. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
After brunch and the bean, Stephen and I stopped at The Art Institute of Chicago for some culture. The Art Institute houses some of the most amazing pieces you will ever see... my favorite: the Modern section. Even though they aren't necessarily difficult to create, I still see the cleverness in their execution. I mean, literally, we walked past one canvas that was painted completely blue. And that was it. How did a solid blue canvas make it into the Art Institute of Chicago?! Well I can't answer that, but I can tell you that it was refreshing to walk by pieces that you wouldn't necessarily call art. Another funny thing, I walked into a room that had trash all over the floor and was like, "oh wow, what happened here? someone threw trash everywhere!! how could they let this happen?" That's when I saw the plaque on the wall and realized it was someone's work. I wonder if they were recording people's reactions as part of the exhibit lol. Anyways, definitely worth a trip!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
For dinner, Stephen and I got lucky with a walk-in at <a href="http://www.thegagechicago.com/the-menu">The Gage</a> on Michigan Ave. (Tip: if you want to eat dinner at a nice place, make a reservation far in advance. Places in Chicago book up fast and then you have to eat somewhere like Bennigans lol.) The Gage is a gastropub that serves upscale american fare and was highly rated on yelp. We ended up splitting a four course meal and loved every bit of it. First course: Fondue, Second Course: Tuna Tartare, Third Course: Scallops with Korean Short Ribs, Fourth Course: Venison Burger.</div>

After dinner we headed to the <a href="http://upcomedyclub.com/index.cfm">Up Comedy</a> club for a holiday comedy show. It was hilarious, but we were seated in the front row so I was weirdly worried they would mess with me the whole time. Of course they did but it was harmless fun... they ended up taking my phone and gift wrapping it in a box for a skit. So random haha.</div>

On Sunday we headed to Willis Tower for a little more sightseeing. They have a skydeck with a see through box that you can step into and stare straight to the ground. Strangely a terrifying experience! I knew there was no way I would fall, but still had to get my "balance" before stepping in.</div>

After Willis Tower we packed up our stuff and headed back to the airport. (Just a quick shot of our gorgeous hotel. The W City Center was so swanky and the perfect location for downtown sightseeing.) Our drive home from the airport was even more terrifying than the trip there but so worth it. Hopefully DFW gets some sun soon... Tired of being cooped up in the house because I'm too scared to drive!</div>

Took some time over Thanksgiving break to photograph my aunt, uncle, and their two adorable kids. We met at a local park and I just love how the photos turned out! So awesome having family models to practice my photog skills on. Who knows, maybe with enough practice I could add photographer to my repertoire one day lol<br />

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones this past week. I made these Pecan Pie Croissants with the assistance of my little sister (she did most of the work lol) and oh man, they turned out amaaazing. So good right out of the oven and perfect for a Sunday brunch. I can't wait to make them again!<br />
<br />
Basically we just took Pillsbury croissant dough, brushed a little butter on the inside and filled them with pecan pie filling. (My sister made the pie filling from the back of the Caro Syrup bottle if you are interested). Then we rolled them up, put a little egg wash on top, and let them bake according to the dough instructions. After they came out of the oven, my sister finished them off with some cinnamon glaze (basically just a doughnut glaze with some cinnamon sprinkled in) and then added some chopped pecans on top. Really a simple recipe but sooooo worth it.<br />
<br />
I'm back at home now, writing this while relaxing in bed with the hubs and looking forward to all of the holiday events coming up. My favorite time of year for sure! So thankful for the time we were able to spend with family and looking forward to much more.Cooper Jane Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00472543470552531420noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374181281114922785.post-36498178072734064232013-11-26T06:18:00.000-08:002013-11-26T06:18:05.686-08:00A weekend filled with love<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This past weekend Stephen and I attended the wedding of two amazing friends that was filled with love, friendship and happy tears. I am such a cry baby, but no way I could help it. During the ceremony, the couple read the most romantic letters to each other and I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju3fWncT2YQTGC-ahkCPSEzhIhWFw4hLJDbSk87Ol9E1q99xhyphenhyphenbYzO9p32EdTFDD5sl5TZwLIL3ZCaGO_9Mp-XOwF2CnaHGqpCw61Q1_CFQW3R70iC7cjNfmUq4uzDk8nTUmu4j4zDOo8/s1600/Burlap_Lace_Wedding_5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju3fWncT2YQTGC-ahkCPSEzhIhWFw4hLJDbSk87Ol9E1q99xhyphenhyphenbYzO9p32EdTFDD5sl5TZwLIL3ZCaGO_9Mp-XOwF2CnaHGqpCw61Q1_CFQW3R70iC7cjNfmUq4uzDk8nTUmu4j4zDOo8/s1600/Burlap_Lace_Wedding_5.JPG" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The wedding was also filled with heartfelt and carefully thought out details. I think the powdered donuts were Stephen's favorite part of the wedding. Just look at that face ;) It was a daytime wedding so we were served a delicious brunch buffet after the ceremony and had mimosas (heck yes!) to toast the happy couple.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The cute little burlap favor bag was filled with the best smelling coffee ever. I am planning on putting my coffee beans in a vanilla candle so that my house smells like a vanilla latte. #excited. Underneath the bag was a list of all the best places around town to visit. This couple is seriously thoughtful!</div>
<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
After the wedding was over, I snagged some of the centerpiece flowers that were going to be tossed and am currently enjoying them in my office. Congratulation Joel and Anna, we had such a great time at the wedding and are so happy you get to spend the rest of your lives together!</div>

It's holiday time guys!! Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but for our group of friends the holidays really start at the annual Friendsgiving dinner. It's always hosted by my best friend and is not only delicious but also the cutest thing you've ever seen. She takes such joy out of decorating her home and always comes up with the most adorable little details. Case and point: the utensil holders below. LOVE.<br />

Last but not least, these little bites were my favorite appetizer and were gone in like 10 minutes. Puff pastry with cream cheese and a jalapeno on top. Now my mouth is watering. Hope you enjoyed this little peek inside out annual Friendsgiving dinner. And a special thanks to my best friend Mandi and her fiance Andrew for hosting this amazing night!Cooper Jane Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00472543470552531420noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374181281114922785.post-42097052685887993902013-11-14T12:24:00.000-08:002013-11-14T12:24:38.419-08:00Lots to do<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hello loves! Hope you all had a great weekend! This past weekend was quite busy, but one of my favorite things I did was photograph my beautiful friend Lacy and her husband to capture her early stages of pregnancy. I just love how the photos turned out, so here are a few of my favorites!<br />
<br />
The bump ahead sign was found on the campus of our university and I think it will be so cute that she will be able to tell her son/daughter about that in the future. So crazy how things can change in just a few years!<br />

The hubs and I also had a DIY date night on Friday, which was awesome btw. We walked through the aisles of Hobby Lobby together, picking out fabric and other items needed for various projects we (I) want to do soon. My kinda date fo sho. Then we went to kroger and found some wine and cheese to snack on while crafting. Oh man, we got this Merlot cheese that was insanely good. I wish I knew the name so I could yell you, but I don't. Sad day. I do know that they sell it at Kroger and the cheese is white, kind of hard, and has a purple rind (I'm guessing from the merlot??). If you see it GET IT. You can thank me later ;) Anyways, after a very long and tedious four and a half hours we had a gorgeous white and oak painted and stained dresser. I am so in love with this thing and actually re-decorated my entire office around it. Ha! Will definitely be posting pictures later this week!<br />

<br />
The hubs and I booked a spontaneous weekend trip to visit Chicago for the first time ever. I am beyond excited and cannot wait to EXPLORE. I think that is probably my favorite thing to do in the world... just go to a new place and see everything that I can see.<br />
<br />
With some travel points we were able to get free flights and we also found a deal on hotwire.com for a four-star city center hotel: $84 a night people. We are most certainly not rich, so we can only afford to go for a couple of nights but you better believe I will be making the most of it!<br />
<br />
So I'm going to let you in on a little travel secret. If you've never used hotwire.com before, they have a feature where you can purchase an unknown 1,2,3 or 4 star hotel for a set price. Hotwire shows how many stars the unknown hotel is and also the approximate location. (Both great pieces of info to know!) Since you can't tell the exact hotel you are purchasing, the rates are MUCH cheaper than they would normally be. After you purchase the unknown hotel, hotwire.com reveals where you get to stay.<br />
<br />
We found a four star hotel in downtown Chicago listed for $84 a night, so we immediately jumped on that deal! After the reveal.... drumroll... we are staying at the super fancy W Hotel! Hit the jackpot this time! Just look at how beautiful the hotel is from these pictures...<br />

1. First, you want to wash your strawberries so they are nice and clean! Make sure you pat them completely dry with a paper towel before you apply any chocolate.<br />
<br />
2. Prepare a double boiler or create your own using household supplies (I don't have an official double boiler but you definitely don't need one for this! Just take a pot filled with a small amount of water and put a glass or heat safe bowl on top. Make sure the water level is low enough so that it does not touch the bowl. You just want the steam from the boiling water to be what heats the chocolate. See <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/178595941442548478/">here</a> for a little more info.)<br />
<br />
3. Once your water starts to boil, put the entire package of white chocolate morsels into the heat safe bowl. Slowly stir the chocolate as it melts and keep stirring until smooth.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqySCmgOKTWk5GX6LNoKKd9y9JR_Pnjx2ORA-fHbiu2aYqAHcNaUsCZG1nTBDVebm_d8G_lKvGPJkP3za5874J-IemKXpGZwC0NwkgwRTZ0z0JBClPYb13r1UP7nsx5rNv40OMLt6MvwA/s1600/Chocolate_Covered_Strawberries_3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqySCmgOKTWk5GX6LNoKKd9y9JR_Pnjx2ORA-fHbiu2aYqAHcNaUsCZG1nTBDVebm_d8G_lKvGPJkP3za5874J-IemKXpGZwC0NwkgwRTZ0z0JBClPYb13r1UP7nsx5rNv40OMLt6MvwA/s1600/Chocolate_Covered_Strawberries_3.jpg" /></a></div>
4. Dip the strawberries into the bowl and then set on a sheet pan covered with parchment or wax paper. Put in refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate hardens. At this point you can totally eat them, OR you can finish them out with mummy faces. (Go for the mummy faces! So worth it!)<br />
<br />
5. Take hardened strawberries out of the refrigerator. Put some melted white chocolate into a plastic baggie and cut a tiny hole in one of the corners so that you can pipe small lines onto the strawberries for the "mummy effect". Put the strawberries back in the fridge for a few minutes to harden.<br />
<br />
6. Using the same technique as steps 2 and 3, melt about 1 cup of the semi-sweet chocolate morsels. Put the melted chocolate into a plastic baggie and again, cut a small hole in one of the corners so that you can draw the mummy faces. The smaller the hole the better for this step! Take the strawberries out of the fridge again and then pipe the faces onto them. Now you are completely done! Just set in the refrigerator for about an hour to completely harden and they are ready to eat! And scare ;)<br />

Hello bloggers! I know it's been a long time since I last posted, but mostly because life has picked up and become crazy town busy. I've been to Birthday Dinners, Bridal Showers, Tailgates, Friend Lunches, Craft Nights, Family Hangs, and also managed to squeeze in a bit of time with the hubs. Oh and work too lol. (BTW if you don't follow me on Facebook, I've teamed up with Emmalinebride.com for a giveaway of my Modern Ombre Invitation Suite! Check out the feature <a href="http://emmalinebride.com/themes/pink-ombre-wedding-inspiration/#more-79422">here</a> and enter for your chance to win a custom design!)<br />
<br />
The breakfast in the pictures: yeah that was from our "brunch off" a couple of weekends ago. We're weird like that and hold two person cooking competitions in our house, complete with Top Chef phrases like "it's time to plate". Lol. My creation was a potato hash topped with a twist on migas: eggs, corn tortillas, onions, bacon, and jalapenos. His creation was an omelette with bacon, sausage, potato, and jalapenos... we both thought we won but unfortunately no judges in da house. Though I really did win from instagram photo votes ;)<br />
<br />
The ruffle photo is my Christmas tree skirt that I started on LAST YEAR. Ay yi yi... that thing is a big pain in the butt, though I am determined to finish by this Christmas. Hopefully I'll get some in progress photos taken so that I can post a how-to on my blog! Basically you just cut long strips of fabric and hot glue them in a ruffled fasion to an existing cheap felt tree skirt. A big pain, but a really cute pain so it will be worth it! (That's what I keep telling myself...)<br />
<br />
Hopefully my next post won't be three weeks away like this one was!!! The hubs stayed home sick from school today so I made some warm and yummy mac n' cheese to make him feel better. Ok maybe it was more for me, but stil lol. This was my first time making it completely from scratch but will definitely not be my last! Soooo much better than a box. This kind has sharp cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, and a little bit of goat cheese. I think this will be the next recipe I post for sure!<br />

Long time no see this week... here's what I've been up to instead of blogging:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><b>Monday: </b></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. Took my car into the shop for this weird and scary shaky thing. Eek I hope it's not bad!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Ate a cafeteria lunch with the hubs at his elementary school. The kids were ADORABLE and the chicken rings actually tasted pretty good!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. Started a new invite design incorporating an Airstream of all things. Random, I know but I like! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><b>Tuesday:</b></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. Work, work, work</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Stephen made some practice Chili for me and it was sooo good. I am envious of his skills. He is entering it in a chili cook-off this weekend so wish us luck!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><b>Wednesday:</b></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. More work</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. My friend Lizzie just got a job right next to mine and we had lunch at the Le Cordon Bleu cooking school! So excited to have friend lunches again!! We were looking forward to a gourmet lunch, but it was basically just slightly better than cafeteria food... Oh well you win some, you lose some!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. Watched the first two episodes of Master Chef Jr. and I think that is the cutest show I have ever seen. Kids age 8-13 participate in a cooking competition and are actually crazy good. In one challenge they all had to make their own homemade pasta with no help from a recipe book! No way I could even do that now hahaha. Makes me excited to have children to help them foster a passion and find their way in life. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><b>Thursday:</b></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. Hoping for a relaxing night in watching Grey's and Scandal with my love. No GTA 5 tonight babe, right??</div>

Girl's Night Tonight! Work has been so stressful lately, which means I'm super excited to hit up a trendy new restaurant downtown and then a sip and shopping event. Cocktails + Shopping + Friends... what could be better?! Hope you all have great, stress free weekends too!Cooper Jane Designhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00472543470552531420noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374181281114922785.post-77221906651061361822013-10-02T09:04:00.003-07:002013-10-02T09:04:44.777-07:00Sausage and Peppers Pasta Recipe<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
In an attempt to finish out my September goals, I photographed my Sausage and Peppers Pasta recipe last Thursday and... wow. I have a new respect for food bloggers! It took me over two hours to cook, take measurements, and photograph everything. Our kitchen counters are not the cutest so as things were finished cooking, I hauled them over to my plain white office desk for photos. That took way too many trips and by the end I was starving, but luckily had a ton of pasta to chow down on!<br />
<br />
Even though it took me a little while, I found that I really enjoy taking pictures of food for some reason. Maybe it's that the colors are so bright and fresh or maybe it's because it's new to me, but I hope to do more of this in the future! <br />
<br />
Anywho, the hubs and I are trying to save up money to buy a house one day so we have been much more conscious about our spending (eeek eating out was one of our WORST habits). Not wanting to give up eating yummy food, we've delved into learning how to cook restaurant quality dinners for a fraction of the price. We also love that most of what we cook becomes leftovers so we are spending much less on lunches as well! This recipe is inspired by Olive Garden's Chicken Scampi. That is seriously my faaaavorite meal, but it is so expensive to go out to eat all of the time. I decided to create my own chicken scampi-ish dish, substituting sausage for the chicken because that's what we had on hand and absolutely loved it! I re-named it Sausage and Peppers Pasta and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite dishes to cook. Without further ado, here is the recipe:<br />
<br />
Sausage and Peppers Pasta <i>Recipe</i> <i>by Ashley Baker</i><br />
<br />
<i>Ingredients:</i><br />
5 links of hot Italian sausage<br />
1/2 Yellow Bell Pepper<br />
1/2 Orange Bell Pepper<br />
1/2 Red Bell Pepper<br />
1/2 Purple Onion<br />
1/2 package of the 16 oz Box Angel Hair Pasta<br />
2 ounces Beer (substitute with Chicken Stock)<br />
4 Tablespoons Butter<br />
2 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil<br />
4 tsp salt<br />
4 tsp garlic powder<br />
4 tsp cayenne pepper<br />
4 tsp ground black pepper<br />
Juice from 1/2 Lemon<br />
<br />
<i>Directions:</i><br />
1. In a frying pan, sear both sides of the sausage links on medium heat for 1 minute. Once seared, pour two ounces beer (substitute: chicken stock) so that it covers the entire pan. Cover with a lid and let simmer on medium heat for 15 minutes or until cooked.<br />
<br />
2. Chop 1/2 Red Bell Pepper, 1/2 Yellow Bell Pepper, 1/2 Orange Bell Pepper and 1/2 Purple Onion. Coat a pan with 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil and saute all vegetables. Sprinkle 2 tsp each of Salt, Garlic Powder, Cayenne Pepper, Ground Black Pepper, and Thyme onto the vegetables as they cook. (I like to leave them on for awhile so they get a little burnt.)<br />
<br />
3. Bring 6 cups of water to a boil and cook 1/2 package of Angel Hair Pasta for approximately 8 minutes or until cooked.<br />
<br />
4. In a frying pan, melt 4 (heaping) tablespoons of butter, the juice from 1/2 a lemon, and 2 tsp each of Salt, Garlic Powder, Cayenne Pepper, Ground Black Pepper, and Thyme. Let simmer on low for 2-3 minutes. This will become the sauce for the pasta.<br />
<br />
5. In a large bowl, combine pasta, peppers, sausage (cut to coin size), and the sauce. Mix and Serve!<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Happy Thursday Bloggers! It has been a busy couple of weeks and I only just feel like it is slowing down. Here's what I've been up to:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Festivals:</b> Stephen and I went to Oktoberfest (yes, my husband did wear casual suspenders hahaha) and our all time favorite festival: Grapefest. In the process, we've discovered that we are not really festival people lol. We absolutely love Grapefest because for $20 you can taste literally hundreds of wines, but other festivals are kind of a dime a dozen. Eat a corn dog, try some funnel cake, people watch... lather, rinse, repeat. There are of course exceptions, but I kind of like that we both agree on this subject and are growing together as we get older.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Travel:</b> I still currently work part-time for a government consulting firm and took a trip to Ohio last week on their behalf. I visited the gorgeous town of Lancaster and happened upon rows and rows of beautiful houses. I felt like I was in Main Street, USA or on the set of a movie. Wish the houses in Texas had the character these houses had!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Design and Print: </b>Ever since I unveiled my print services I have been a busy bee with gorgeous orders for lovely brides. I feel like I am <i>this </i>close to having all of my packaging collateral in order. Burlap, Twine, and Stamps... Oh my! I also have been working on Christmas designs to have them ready when the season is here. Love love love the holidays. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Fun with friends: </b>Had the best time riding on a party bus to the Maroon 5 / Kelly Clarkson concert with my BFF. That concert was sooo good and we all felt so fancy having drop off and pick up service. I've also had some dinners, happy hours, and craft nights with friends. So good to have girl time!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hoping to photograph my new favorite dish to make: Sausage and Peppers Pasta and share that next week!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Happy Monday Lovies! I know it's only September, but I already have Thanksgiving and Christmas on the brain!! Summer is fun and all, but fall/winter is my absolute favorite. Cold weather, leather boots, leggings, family gatherings, baking, gifting... agh I could go on and on. Of course my thoughts about Christmas would lead me to a new design idea: a gorgeously modern year in review Christmas letter. It has been posted in my Etsy shop <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/163332140/2013-a-year-in-review-christmas-letter?">here </a>and is completely customizable to your specific colors and information. I would love to work with you on one of these so contact me at Ashley@CooperJaneDesign.com with any questions!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-align: justify;">A couple of months ago, my best friend in the world got engaged and I cannot tell you how happy I was. We had been planning our weddings as far back as I can remember and her dream was finally coming true! Fairy tale stuff right here. Well of course as her BFFL I had to get her a little something to celebrate. I set out on my shopping journey, just knowing I would find the perfect gift that said "YAY! You're a BRIDE and I am so happy for you! Here is xyz to celebrate!" but as I was shopping around I couldn't find anything cute and wedding related in the stores! A travesty, I know. After literally hours, I found an adorable wedding scrapbook at Barnes and Noble and paired it with the latest Martha Stewart Wedding Mag. She loved it (as did I), but I was still perturbed that it took hours to find a suitable present for a large category of people: newly engaged girls. That time is one of the happiest in a girl's life... you've found your soul mate and have been given the green light to plan that wedding you've been thinking about for literally ever. You're filled with dreams, ideas, and untapped wedding potential that is just waiting to be unleashed. As friends, all you want to do is shower them with love and happiness, which is often accompanied with a little token of your affection. ANYWHO... I decided that I would have to take it upon myself to fill a void in the gift giving world: presents for the newly engaged bride. That's why I came up with the Bride Ideas notepad. Such a simple idea, but actually an incredibly thoughtful gift that any bride can make use of. The notepad is listed in my Etsy shop </span><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/161879935/bride-ideas-notepad-newly-engaged-gift?ref=shop_home_active" style="text-align: justify;">here</a><span style="text-align: justify;">, with more gifts to follow soon hopefully! I especially love the "Assigned To" part... would have loved to rip off a sheet of tasks to give to my groom when I was engaged. Love you babe! ;)</span></div>

It has definitely been the most ignored room in our home; filled with discarded decorations and random junk. We still have an air mattress in there, but I wanted to make it feel as welcome as possible! Of course I went to my favorite one stop shop (Target) and got some comfy new sheets (love love love their Threshold line) and I also found this gorg ombre pillow. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3-vCtSB0MeFw83qktPc3kv6q7kU7MmhIidVdOXkiBjimYeV6hQaV0Rcq4dgUwTVJWHKb8UauVWNf-WuPB6c0QCCexK93WSk75qWpgGZe6_bYpq87bMrhVLspNR3ibkUUb6BHKHd2LVjw/s1600/Guest_Bedroom_Basket_1.jpg" /><span style="text-align: start;">Then, I decided to put together a basket of goodies filled with everything they would need for the weekend. It has towels, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, mouthwash, and extra toothbrushes. This made me especially happy as a hostess because I now have everything in one place for future guests and won't have to scramble around to find extras later. </span></div>

Last, I added just a few little items for the nightstand... Lavender Sleep Spray, Eucalyptus lotion, a candle, and some ibuprofen. This worked out so great and I can't wait to host our next guests!</div>

This includes Digital AND Printed orders so go crazy, people! Use code: LOVECJD at checkout to receive the reader discount.<br />
<br />
Side Note: this is the first set that I have created entirely in Illustrator! Eek, so proud of myself. I previously designed only in Photoshop and was completely stupefied by Illustrator. Although the program is similar to Photoshop, it felt like using my left hand to write. Completely awkward, unfamiliar, and just plain hard. I put it aside for a few months and then decided to conquer my fears and enroll in an online class. Love what I am learning and so excited to continue!</div>
